The Black Santa Sit-out has now been taking place on the steps of St Anne’s Cathedral for a full week and will continue until Christmas Eve.
Up until Thursday morning, the weather had been relatively kind, but the wind and rain brought by Storm Pia were making Donegall Street a blustery place to be standing out in the elements – so if you are passing by, stop and show your support for Dean Stephen Forde and his band of helpers.
The 2023 appeal will focus on three areas – helping smaller local charities who are supporting the most disadvantaged families and individuals in our communities; charities working with those impacted by drug abuse in Northern Ireland; and charities and organisations who are offering bereavement support services in the aftermath of the Covid pandemic.
Dean Forde has been reflecting on these priorities, and the day-by-day happenings on the steps in his daily Black Santa Diary in the Belfast Telegraph.
With the support of PWC, videos outlining the great work carried out by local charities who have been funded by Black Santa in the past, are being shared on the Belfast Cathedral Facebook page where you can keep up with the sit-out. We have also added more pictures to our Black Santa Album (below).
Well done to Dean Stephen Forde and his team on another great effort.
