A youth team from St John’s, Ballyclare, and All Saints’, Antrim, is preparing to travel to Tarragona in Spain with Exodus in July.

The team of 13 will work with a local church in leading a kids’ holiday club and will support local churches in street evangelism. Preparations started in January, with regular team gatherings disciplined the young people and preparing them for mission.

Hanging out!

As part of this preparation, the team has had to raise almost £4,000 to support the ministries of the local churches in Tarragona. A number of fundraising events have taken place including a coffee morning, a talent show, and a sponsored zip-line.

The Rev Jonny Campbell-Smyth who will lead the team, has himself taken on the fundraising challenge and is now coming to the end of a one million step challenge.

Jonny said: “We have an amazing team of young people from both parishes who are excited at how God will equip them in Spain. I have watched them grow in unity and I know God will shape them in an incredible way. My thanks go to Rev Claire Thompson from All Saints’ who is helping lead the team.”

Zipping along!

He continued: “We would value your prayers for safety, for God’s guidance and for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the teenagers and the people they are going to serve.”

Exodus is this year sending almost 60 teams on mission from Northern Ireland across the world with more than 500 young people serving God this summer.
