There is still time to sign up for the Connor Big Sing, taking place in Lisburn Cathedral on Sunday September 22 from 2.30pm.
Sponsored by the Chapter at Lisburn Cathedral, the Big Sing is a day of training and fellowship as participants learn some new contemporary Christian songs.
The Dean of Connor and rector of Lisburn Cathedral, the Very Rev Sam Wright, said: “We are delighted that so many have already signed up for this training event, but would love to invite others to do so by 15th September at www.lisburncathedral.org/bigsing24.”
The Cathedral’s musical director, Stephen McLoughlin, has prepared music scores for the musicians and sent these to those already signed up. Stephen will offer training for musicians and Julie Harper, former leader of Lisburn Community Choir, is providing vocals training for all singers.
Music recordings are also being sent to all participants in advance and Connor Big Sing 2024 books have also been published for participants to receive on September 22.
James Turner, Worship Team Leader at the Hub Chaplaincy at Queen’s University Belfast, is taking an afternoon worship seminar and Q&A as well as leading with a band of musicians at the 7pm Connor Big Sing Celebration Service.
Lisburn Cathedral’s musical curate, the Rev Lee Boal, will share God’s Word and the Bishop of Connor, the Rt Rev George Davison, will close the service with a word of encouragement to all taking part.
Dean Wright added: “This Celebration Service is open to everyone, so please come yourselves and bring your church members with you.”
