Creation Light Party fun for families

Monday November 4th 2024

Enjoying the Creation Light Party are Heather Carson with daughter Lisa (dressed as a giraffe) and her grandaughter who is dressed as a fabulous moo cow!

Great fun was had by all ages at the Connor Diocese Creation Light Party held in Mossley Parish on Saturday November 2 – check out our Photo Gallery below.

Diocesan Children’s Ministry Development Officer Victoria Jackson said the family event, which ran from 4-6pm, offered something a little different at a time of year filled with creepy costumes and dark decorations.

Families were invited to come dressed as something from God’s amazing creation – which included coming just as yourself – but there were plenty of great costumes on display.

Mossley Parish Hall was fabulously decorated with balloons and lights as the children were invited to try their hand at a variety of different crafts. There was a costume parade, with the band providing stirring music, and prizes for the best costumes.

Assisted by Sister Karen Webb and Ste Fitzgerald from Church Army, Victoria led the worship and singing in the Church of the Holy Spirit, and the children really enjoyed a show by Sam Shaw from Godshandiwork Puppets, which included lots of hats, balloons and, or course, some colourful puppets – all telling the story of God’s amazing Creation.

There was a sing-a-long, storytelling and s’mores around the ‘campfire before the event finished with food and a Light Parade.
