Come and Sing – Stainer’s Crucifixion at Belfast Cathedral

Wednesday March 26th 2025

Would you like to sing Sir John Stainer’s The Crucifixion with the choir of Belfast Cathedral in the beautiful surroundings of St Anne’s on Palm Sunday?

This, the Cathedral’s first Come and Sing event of 2025, is an immensely moving and dramatic setting of the passion narrative.

Singers of all vocal parts are welcome to register, singing alongside the Cathedral Choir for what promises to be an afternoon of fun and passionate music making together, led by Cathedral Organist and Master of Music, Jack Wilson.

Rehearsals take place from 4.30pm-7pm on Palm Sunday, April 13, with the performance at 7.30pm.

Soloists this year are Mark Tilley (Tenor) and Cathedral curate, the Rev Cameron Mack (Bass), accompanied by Assistant Organist Stephen Hamill.

This setting is well renowned for its stoic hymnody, rousing choruses, and intimate solos.

Refreshments and scores will be provided.

To express your interest, please contact Jack Wilson at  jackwilson@belfastcathedral.org.
