Video highlights partnership between church and local school

A partnership between Derryvolgie Parish Church and Harmony Hill Primary School, Lisburn, is the subject of a new video in the Church of Ireland’s Inspiring Angles series.

The ‘harbour’ project involving the parish and its local primary school featured in the October 2024 issue of our diocesan magazine Connor Connections.

With funding from the Board of Education (Northern Ireland) and St Columba’s, Derryvolgie, a repurposed classroom in Harmony Hill Primary School includes a sensory room and a calm area for counselling, listening and mentoring.

As interviewees explain, the partnership between the school and church provides light and hope in the local community through a real sense of teamwork.
