Templepatrick team prepares for India ministry trip

A team of six from Templepatrick Parish will leave on Monday July 21 for a ministry trip to the Indian Christian Mission Centre (ICMC) in Salem, Tamil Nadu.

They will be involved in running a Bible Club for 45 primary school aged children and will travel with a team of 13 people whose ages range from 16 -79 from Belvoir Parish who will be looking after around 100 secondary school aged children.

The team will travel to Bengaluru via Frankfurt and will be based at Salem. The Templepatrick team is led by the rector, the Rev Jeremy Mould, who last visited the ICMC in July 2023 with team of five young people from Templepatrick and Mossley parishes.

The ICMC supports 150 orphans at the Promised Land Complex, providing them with clothing, accommodation, meals and an education, provided at the Graham School, up to degree level, depending on ability.

ICMC also runs an Arts and Science College and a Nursing College on the site and a school, St Basil’s, and Omega Church in Salem city.

As well as running the Bible Club, the team will visit an orphanage, take a service in Omega Church, meet with college and nursing students, attend a school assembly, and there will also be a day for shopping and taking in some of the culture and sights of the area.

The team arrives home on August 1. Jeremy said the ministry trip would be ‘an amazing experience.’

The Templepatrick team is supported by the Connor Council for Mission Mission Support Fund.
