Thanksgiving Prayers at Harvest

Friday October 3rd 2025

There’s a chill is in the air, and the nights are drawing in – it’s the time of year for giving thanks for the crops safely brought in.

This prayer, shared by the Liturgical Advisory Committee, is a reminder to give thanks not just for the things close to home, for which we are grateful, but also for the many people in our world who work for the well-being and care of all people.

For those
who work for shelter
in a world where many are homeless,

For those
who work for education
in a world where many have no access,

For those
who work for plenty
in a world where many go without,

For the times
when we are moved to compassionate action,

For hope
in a world full of despair.
We say thank you God. Amen.
