Sixty-four singers, including the Choir of Belfast Cathedral, took part in the Cathedral’s second ‘Come and Sing’ event featuring Gabriel Fauré’s ‘Requiem’ on the evening of Sunday November 9.
The event began with a rehearsal from 4.30pm-7pm, followed by a performance of the ‘Requiem,’ directed by the Cathedral’s Organist and Master of Music, Jack Wilson.
Jack commented: “The roof was lifted this evening with music of thankfulness, remembrance, and praise, as we welcomed guest singers, alongside our own Cathedral Choir (totalling 64 in total!) in a performance of Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem,
“Our sincerest thanks go to our choir who worked hard, our wonderful organist for the evening, Dr Derek Collins, alongside our fantastic soloists Joanna Higgins, Daire Downey, and Nick Pierpoint.”
He added: “This was our second such event, and we sincerely hope that you can join us for our next Come and Sing in the near future.”
