The Rev Canon Kevin Graham MBE DL, and his wife Cheryl, were guests at HRH The Princess of Wales Christmas Carol Service Together at Christmas at Westminster Abbey on December 5.

On arrival at the Abbey, each guest was invited to complete a link to form a paper chain on the Christmas tree outside the Abbey, which was later read by the Wales family on their arrival for the service.

Kevin, rector of St Bartholomew’s Parish Church, Stranmillis, and his wife were seated in the South Transept of the Abbey, behind the Royal Household. Kevin, Cheryl and four others were there as nominees of the Lord Lieutenant of the City and County Borough of Belfast, Dame Fionnuala Jay-O’Boyle DBE DStJ DDL.

Speaking after the service, Kevin said: “The service combined the best of traditional Carols and some more modern orchestrations, alongside the Abbey Choir with readings and reflections shared by well-known actors and HRH The Prince of Wales.”

He said it had been a joyous and celebratory event.

“It was a lovely way to mark begin the season of Carol Services, with a particular focus on kindness and showing love to others, all in a beautifully candlelit Abbey,” Kevin added.

HRH the Princess of Wales Carol Service will be aired on ITV1 on Christmas Eve.
