Belfast Cathedral parishioners Terry and Brenda Pateman were at Windsor Castle on Wednesday December 10, where Terry received an OBE from HRH The Prince of Wales.
Terry, who is also a member of the Cathedral Board, was awarded the OBE in the King’s Birthday Honours list for 2025 for services to grassroots sport and community relations. He has been involved in all aspects of administering the Northern Amateur Football League on a voluntary basis from 1965 to the present day.
As Secretary, Vice Chair, Chair and latterly Chair of the League Management Committee, Terry proactively helped position the league as a place where all sides of a divided community could join together as equals in football.
