Church Army training with the Church of Ireland Youth Department

Working with Church Army, the Church of Ireland Youth Department (CIYD) has organised a visit by Jane Henderson who will run training for chaplains, and faith empowered training.

Church Army is part of the Church of England and exists to train, resource and encourage people to grow and share their faith.

CIYD has invited Jane Henderson to visit Ireland from England for two days in March. She has been working on a number of projects for Church Army working with teenagers. She will be running two sessions, outlined below:

Chaplains’ training

This will take place on Wednesday March 25 at the Church of Ireland Theological Institute in Dublin (D14 KX24), between 1pm and 5pm. The session will include a number of resources which would be useful for Christian Unions or religion classes. Chaplains and Church Youth workers are welcome to attend.

The first is Ignite, 10 sessions each lasting 30 minutes which explore faith and leadership. You can read more HERE.

The next one is Faith Pictures. Six sessions each lasting an hour designed to get people talking about their faith. More information HERE.

Finally, there is Faith Shared. This is the next step along from Faith Pictures, and is more explicit about evangelism and mission.

Faith Empowered training

Training in Faith Empowered will take place on Thursday March 26 at the Church of Ireland Theological Institute in Dublin (D14 KX24) between 10am and 4pm. Lunch is included. All Chaplains, Church Youth workers and clergy are welcome.

Faith Empowered seeks to train local lay leaders in Evangelism over 10 sessions designed to be spread out over a year. They would be ideal for a group of older Christian teenagers, or indeed anyone, who you are seeking to disciple. The whole day will equip you to deliver these 10 sessions and more information can be found HERE.
