Your spring issue of ‘Connor Connections’ is available now

Wednesday February 25th 2026

The spring issue of our diocesan magazine Connor Connections is out now and is free to pick up at a church near you!

The front cover features a Friendship Tree created by young people during a visit to Nepal. The visiting team members included the Rev Jacob Mercer, rector of St Brigid’s Parish, Mallusk, and Fiona Thompson, a parishioner of Ballynure and Ballyeaston, who both share their experiences with us.

Inside, we meet Dr Daphne Davidson, assistant organist in Ballinderry Parish, who has recently celebrated her 90th birthday, and Belfast Cathedral parishioner Phyllis Forster, who received an MBE in the King’s New Year Honours.

We travel to Northern Argentina with the Rev Peter Jones to learn more about the diocese that Connor, in partnership with SAMS, aims to support through its Lent Project 2026; and to Hosur, India, where a team from Greenisland Parish spent time building relationships with those involved in an orphanage it is supporting.

St Stephen’s, Millfield, and The Hub Chaplaincy have been running a very successful outreach, offering students in the area a free lunch one day a week. We call by to see what’s on the menu and hear how this benefits the young people – from the students themselves!

Glenavy Parish has been running a very successful pop-up shop which has raised thousands for local charities over the years, and organiser Lyn Cassidy tells us how her vision became a dream come true.

Youth Officer David Armstrong reports back from the Growing Young Disciples Conference which took place in Staffordshire in January; and we have a report with lots of photos of the Connor / Armagh Clergy Conference held last November.

Details of the Connor Lent Project 2026 and the activities this will support are outlined.

We carry tributes to the late Rev Allister Mallon and the late Canon Sam McComb. There is news of appointments, commissionings, Mothers’ Union activities, Black Santa and more.

Be sure and pick up your copy of Connor Connections.
