Former Connor Diocesan Youth Officer Christina Baillie has been appointed Chief Officer of Summer Madness (NI).
Huge congratulations to our former Diocesan Youth Officer, Christina Baillie, who has been appointed the next Chief Officer of Summer Madness (NI).
Christina worked with the diocese for nine years, before moving to Youth for Christ as Project Development Lead in 2024. Her appointment was announced on Monday June 29 – during the 2026 Summer Madness Festival!
Christina lives in Holywood and is married to Mark and is an Elder in First Holywood Presbyterian. She is a graduate of Queen’s University, Belfast Bible College, and Youth Link NI.
A statement on the Summer Madness Facebook page says ‘she brings a wealth of experience in youth ministry, working within and across churches, para-church and community organisations. More than this, Christina has a huge heart for Summer Madness borne out of her love for the Lord and her faithfulness in serving the work of His kingdom.’
Christina said: “I am delighted to take up the role of Chief Officer with Summer Madness. Summer Madness has had a huge impact on my life and in the lives of so many young people. God has worked mightily through the festival and many initiatives over the last 39 years.
“It’s a privilege to follow in John Kee’s footsteps and I am grateful for how he has invested into the next generation. In following John, I am honoured to be able to serve young people and the church in Ireland through this role. I have loved my time with Youth for Christ Northern Ireland and I am so grateful for the incredible team who value and serve young people.
“I look forward to honouring the relationship between Youth for Christ and Summer Madness, as well as many other organisations, as we seek to serve Jesus together and cannot wait to see how God continues to work and transform lives in the years to come.”
Responding to this news, Summer Madness current Chief Officer John Kee said: “I couldn’t be more delighted or excited to hear that Christina has been appointed to the role. She is already a wonderful servant of Summer Madness and I look forward to seeing how Madness will grow in the years to come.
“She will have my prayers and support, and I trust that the whole Madness team will get right behind her as they have done for me over many years. It has been an absolute joy and blessing to serve Summer Madness and I know that it will be the same for Christina.”
Christina will take up the role early in the autumn.
