Stand up against Poverty

Friday October 13th 2006

A rally against poverty taking place on Sunday October 15 at the Bandstand, Botanic Gardens, Belfast is part of a bid to enter the Guinness Book of Records.

The aim is to have the largest number of people ever stand up against poverty.

Anyone unable to come is asked to stand up against poverty in their own church. If possible take a photograph of parishioners making their own personal stand as part of this vital campaign.

Churches can register on www.millenniumcampaign.org and digital pictures should be forwarded to the same website.

Christian Aid speakers at the event in Botanic Gardens include Donald Manda Malawi and Ms Nafisatu Chinery Ghana, while there will be drum music from Talking Drum.
