You are invited warmly to join us for this day conference and networking event, highlighting stories of interfaith and intercultural friendship and collaboration, and encouraging faith communities to engage with the Places of Sanctuary Ireland network. This day conference is a collaboration between the Church of Ireland Interfaith Working Group and the Sanctuary in Faith Stream of Places of Sanctuary Ireland.
Keynote speaker: The Rev Bonnie Evans-Hills
Bonnie Evans-Hills is a priest in the Scottish Episcopal Church and has considerable experience in inter-religious dialogue, working with organisations such as the EU Commission on Foreign Affairs & Security, the World Council of Churches, Churches Together in Britain & Ireland, the Anglican Communion, and the Anglican Mission organisation USPG (United Society for Partners in the Gospel). Bonnie has been involved in contributing to the UN Office for the Prevention of Genocide’s Global Plan of Action for Religious Leaders & Actors. Alongside several other publications, Bonnie is co-author of the book ‘Engaging Islam from a Christian Perspective,’ published by Peter Lang. She was recently awarded the Hubert Walter Award for Reconciliation and Interfaith Cooperation by the Archbishop of Canterbury.

Tea/coffee available from 10.00-10.30 AM, with programme beginning at 11am sharp. The programme will conclude at 4pm. Lunch is included, prepared by ‘Cooking for Freedom’, a group of residents from direct provision centres around Dublin, who gather for cooking and conversation in community kitchen spaces, including in Wesley House.
