Retreat theme   –  Elijah – a Model for Leadership

We look forward to having Bishop Harold Miller bring thoughtful teaching from the life of Elijah. Harold has extensive experience in church leadership; through his gifted biblical insights we will see how Elijah’s ability to discern the voice of God in difficult situations gave him the courage to act on the Lord’s leading. We will also see the faithfulness and restorative heart of God despite Elijah’s fatigue and weaknesses. Harold writes:

Bishop Miller writes: “I must admit that I have become entirely fascinated with Elijah and his ministry over the past few years.  He is an incredible person, indeed the archetypal prophet.  But he brings together in his experience introversion and extroversion, certainty and insecurity, noise and silence.  He speaks into the lives of all leaders, no matter what our personality or style.”

The retreat will be a balance of teaching, guided reflection, personal space for private reflection and an opportunity to pray with colleagues and ministry companions.
