St Anne’s Cathedral marks the beginning of Advent with an Advent Procession at the 3.30pm Service on Sunday November 30.
This special service begins in darkness. The congregation and all participants will carry a candle, and these will be lit before the first reading.
The choir will sing from different parts of the Cathedral during the service, including the Baptistery, Chancel and Chapel of the Holy Spirit. Clergy will also move around the Cathedral and Readings will be delivered from different areas of the Cathedral.
St Anne’s new Volunteer Choir will make its public debut at this service. The Choir, led by Deputy Masters of the Choristers Thérèse Woodfield, has been practicing every Wednesday evening since it was established in September this year.
All are welcome to this beautiful and atmospheric service of movement and light.
