Information meetings on the future of ministry training

Tuesday February 20th 2007

Two information meetings have been organised to raise awareness of major changes planned for the future of ministry training in the Church of Ireland.

One of these will be held in the Diocese of Connor, at the Templeton Hotel, Templepatrick, on April 19. The other takes place at the Green Isle Hotel in Newlands Cross, Dublin, on April 18.

The House of Bishops has set up a project team to manage the process and formation of the new training structure. The new training system will focus primarily on training for ordination, but will aim to deliver a more comprehensive training structure and opportunities for all those in ministry. The review has also taken into account the site and facilities for students and there are major changes taking place.

Connor Diocesan Training Co-Ordinator Peter Hamill said: “I would encourage attendance at these events, as this will impact on the whole life of the church.”

Further information on the project can be found on www.ministry.ie. In order to book a place for the event you can register online at www.ministry.ie or indicate in writing you wish to attend to: Ministry Project at Church of Ireland House, Rathmines, Dublin 6.

The information evening in the Templeton Hotel on April 19 begins at 7.30pm.
