Mothers’ Union ladies make their mark on marathon

The Connor ladies line up at the start of the Marathon nine mile walk at Belfast City Hall.Twelve members of Ballymena and Broughshane Mothers’ Union once again took part in the May Day Bank Holiday Belfast Marathon nine mile walk. 

The money raised this year will be split between the Worldwide Relief Fund and diocesan projects closer to home – last year the walkers raised more than £3000 which was sent off to the Worldwide Relief Fund. 

MU member Loraine Watt, who took photos on the day, said afterwards: “We had a super walk, the weather was great and the atmosphere was electric.”

The Connor ladies even found themselves in the limelight when they were interviewed by a reporter from RTE’s Morning Extra programme!
