Alex Higgins’ commemorative booklet for sale
Following the Service of Thanksgiving for the late Alex Higgins in St Anne’s Cathedral on Monday August 2, there has been great demand for copies of the Order of Service.
To meet this demand, a special commemorative edition has been produced which contains the poem read by Alex’s daughter Lauren, tributes by his snooker colleagues and the address by the Dean of Belfast, the Very Rev Dr Houston McKelvey.
The commemorative booklet is available from the stewards’ desk in the Cathedral in Donegall Street. The cost is £3 with all proceeds going to the Cancer Centre at Belfast City Hospital. Copies are also available by post @ £4.
The sum raised will be added to the £1,400+ already raised for the Cancer Centre at Belfast City Hospital from the retiring collection at the thanksgiving service for the former World Snooker Champion.
