‘The Sacred Presence’ at Centre for Celtic Spirituality

The Centre for Celtic Spirituality in Armagh has announced its ‘The Sacred Presence’ Programme for 2010-2011.

The Centre for Celtic Spirituality is a non profit-making, interchurch project, and events on the programme are open to all.

According to the old Celtic calendar the year is divided into four seasons, following the cycles of nature – Samhain, Imbolc, Bealtaine and Lughnasa.
 
Lughnasa

Saturday October 2nd 2010
Day Pilgrimage to Mellifont, Newgrange and Monasterboice.
Cost: £40.00 – please book in advance.
Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th October 2010
Study weekend with Sean O’Duinn OSB , author of ‘Where Three Steams Meet’ a foundational study in Celtic Spirituality. The weekend also includes a visit by coach to Nendrum, one of the best preserved Celtic Monastic sites in Ulster.
Cost: £50.00 – please book in advance.

Samhain

Saturday 6th to Sunday 7th November 2010
‘Healing the self – The Sacred Presence within’
A weekend workshop with Janet Connor based on the writings of Louise Hay.
Cost £55.00 – please book in advance as numbers limited.

Imbolc

February 1st 2011 – St. Brigid’s Day 7:30p.m.
St Patrick’s Church of Ireland Cathedral.
‘Building healthy communities through honest friendship’
An evening with the Rev Ken Newell, former Presbyterian Moderator, and Fr Gerry Reynolds of Clonard Monastery. They will speak of their pilgrimage of understanding, the effect of their friendship on the communities in which they serve and the power of friendship to ‘defrost’ deep divisions.
Cost: £5.00 (Payable at the door)

April 16th 2011 – The Sacred Presence in Creativity
Creative Writing Workshop with the Rev John Harding, Anglican Priest and writer of poetry. As part of this workshop for the beginning of Passiontide, he will lead a prayer-walk around the cathedral, using ‘Poems of the Cross’ composed for Holy Week and the period leading up to Easter.

Bealtaine

May 20-22nd 2011
The Annual Celtic Spirituality Conference

Celtic Eucharist and Christian Aid lunches
These take place on the first Wednesday of each month. The Celtic Eucharist is at 12:30pm in the cathedral Lady Chapel.
The lunch is at 1:00pm in 9 Vicars’ Hill (opposite the cathedral‘s main entrance).
All proceeds to Christian Aid.
