The beauty of the snow

Tuesday January 4th 2011

The snow that caused so much havoc in the days before and during Christmas may already seem a distant memory.

But while the icy conditions caused major problems for anyone wishing to travel or simply get out and about, not to mention the resulting difficulties with pipes bursting in the thaw, there is no denying that for a few days at least Northern Ireland was simply breathtaking.

Here are a couple of photos from within Connor Diocese which illustrate that the way words cannot. Please send your snow pictures to dco@connor.anglican.org.

Magheragall Parish Church stands out against the snow and the blue sky.
Reg Haslett, Glenavy Parish, took this stunning shot.
Another lovely image of the Glenavy countryside as trees stuggle to stand upright under the weight of the snow. By Reg Haslett.
