Death of the Rev Canon Dick McDonald
It is with regret we report the death of the Rev Canon JRB (Dick) McDonald on Monday May 30. He was 94.
More than 40 years ago, Canon McDonald and his wife Dorothy helped pioneer counselling services in Northern Ireland. He continued to work in both counselling and in the ministry into his nineties, and indeed his last service was on St Patrick’s Day this year, the 69th anniversary of his ordination as a priest.
Canon McDonald was predeceased by his wife and daughter Fiona. He is survived by sons Jeremy, Nick and Alistair, sisters Molly and Judith, daughters-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sympathy is extended to them and all the family circle.
The funeral will take place on Tuesday June 7 with Requiem Eucharist at St George’s at 11am followed by committal and cremation at Roselawn at 2pm.
