Willowfield Parish seeking recruits for its Year Out Team

Friday June 3rd 2011

Willowfield Parish Church in East Belfast is currently recruiting for its Year Out Team, starting in September.

The parish wants to make this opportunity highly accessible to young people throughout Ireland.

Each year Willowfield takes on a team of people committed to a year of service, training and discipleship. Joining the Year Out Team provides opportunity to join the staff team in the daily and ongoing work of the church, train with the team to broaden perspective, sharpen skills and discover gifts, and continually put what you learn into practise.

The team is very much a community; living, working and learning together. This could be youth or children’s work, seniors or infants, chatting with people in the pubs or praying for people on the streets.

This is an opportunity for people looking for a taste of full-time ministry, exploring options, and discovering what God may be calling them to, and while it is ideal for students wanting to take a year out before, during or after studies, the opportunity is available to anyone over 18.

The scheme runs in line with the academic year, extending into the summer term. The 2011 start date is September 6. Team members are asked to contribute £1,500 per person for the year which directly funds the running costs of the programme as well as team living expenses.
