Death of the Rev Moreen Hutchinson
It is with sadness we report the death of the Rev Moreen Hutchinson, who recently retired as Priest in Charge of the grouped parishes of Ardclinis, Tickmacrevan, Layde and Cushendun (in Carnlough, Glenarm, Cushendal and Cushendun).
Moreen, 65, was suddenly taken ill on Friday September 23 and died in Antrim Area Hospital on Tuesday September 27.
Her funeral service will be conducted by Archdeacon Stephen Forde, and will take place in St Cedma’s Parish Church, Larne, on Friday September 30 at 1.30pm.
After taking early retirement from the civil service, Moreen was ordained to the curacy of Larne, Glynn and Raloo in 2001 before being appointed Priest in Charge of Ardclinis, Tickmacrevan, Layde and Cushendun in 2004.
Moreen was a Domestic Chaplain to the Bishop of Connor, and had been a Pastoral Tutor with the Continuing Education in Ministry training programme of Connor Diocese. During her ministry in the ‘coastal parishes’ Moreen oversaw the extensive restoration of all three churches in use in the parish.
