Opportunity to learn more about Back to Church Sunday

Wednesday February 22nd 2012

There will be an opportunity to learn more about how to get the most out of Back to Church Sunday when Michael Harvey, Co–ordinator in UK and Ireland, visits Connor Diocese on February 29.

Michael will be in Ireland from February 28 until March 2 at the invitation of the Church of Ireland Council for Mission. He will be speaking in All Saints Parish Church, University Street, Belfast at 8pm on the 29th.

In 2011 more than 90 Church of Ireland parishes signed up for the initiative and recorded a combined increase in attendance of over 3000 people. Michael Harvey spoke at the 2011 General Synod Mission Event to common acclaim and All Saints is one of a number of churches he will speak at during his visit.

He will talk about the experiences of churches that have taken part in Back to Church Sunday, and give advice on how to gear up your parish for participation.

The meetings will be equally suitable for any church member wanting to find out what participation in Back to Church Sunday involves or for those who have already taken part and are keen to build on the experience.

For further information, contact the Rev Paul Hoey, secretary of the Mission Council, 028 6632 9655, or at dphoey@btinternet.com
