Appointment of Ecumenical Canons to St Anne’s Cathedral
At a meeting of the Chapter of St Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast on Wednesday June 20 two ecumenical canons were appointed.
The appointments follow the retirement of the Rev Wilfred Orr and the Rev Ivan McElhinney.
The new canons are the Rev Ruth Patterson of Restoration Ministries and the Rev Dr Brian Fletcher, Minister of Cullybackey Methodist Church and a former President of the Methodist Church in Ireland. The appointments have been welcomed by both the Bishop of Connor and the Bishop of Down and Dromore.
The installation is to take place on Sunday October 21at 3.30 p.m. in the Cathedral.
