Bishop joins Christ Church Lisburn team for charity football match

Tuesday November 27th 2012

Eat your heart out Ferdinand, Suarez, Beckham and all other pretenders – football’s real superstars will be displaying their skills in a Lisburn charity derby featuring Christ Church Parish and the local Simon Community Hostel!

Bolstering the rector of Christ Church’s team are parishioners, politicians, friends of the parish and the big name himself, the Rt Rev Alan Abernethy, Bishop of Connor.

The match takes place at Lisburn Leisureplex on Wednesday November 28, kick off 2pm, and has been arranged to raise awareness of Homelessness Week.

Putting football boots to one side, Christ Church Parish is hosting a Christmas Craft Fair & Coffee Morning to support the continuing partnership with St Apollo School, Uganda. The event takes place on Saturday December 1 from 10am–1pm. All are welcome.
