Bishops meet with Northern Ireland’s Political Leaders
The Bishop of Connor, the Rt Rev Alan Abernethy, met with leading politicians on Wednesday January 15 along with bishops from the Northern Province of the Church of Ireland
The bishops spoke to the leaders of the five main political parties in Northern Ireland in a series of individual meetings.
A Church of Ireland statement said: “These were informal discussions exploring themes of peace making, reconciliation and working together for the good of the whole community. The bishops welcomed the opportunity to meet and discuss these topics with them.”
