More than 100 young people from across Connor Diocese came together in Antrim on Saturday December 12 for the Christmas EVENT.

Engage Connor Youth, the Youth Council for the diocese, organised a variety of activities including chocolate fountains and a photo booth to kick off the evening, followed by worship by Michael and the band from St Patrick’s, Coleraine.

The Rev Simon Genoe, Vicar of Lisburn Cathedral, spoke about Jesus being born into the world as the Prince of Peace and how He can bring peace to us, our loved ones and the world.

The young people travelled to the EVENT, held in All Saints’ Parish Hall, from Lisburn Cathedral, Larne, St Paul’s Lisburn, Derryvolgie, Coleraine, Lambeg, Ballymena, Muckamore, Church of the Resurrection & Magheragall.

The Engage Connor Youth programme for 2016 was launched with a range of continuing and new events run by the Council to get young people and leaders connected.

Diocesan Youth Officer Christina Baillie said: “With 38 pizzas consumed and lots of dancing, an enjoyable night was had by all!

“Thanks to all the Youth Council members for their contributions and to all the groups who came along to make this such a great evening.”
