Musical Director Lorna Palmer and Kerygma (The Good News Choir) presented a great selection of hymns, carols and gospel songs at an ‘Evening of Celebration Praise’ in Lisburn Cathedral on Saturday November 17.

The compere for the evening was the Rev Stephen Smyth (Rector of Kilmore and Inch Parish) who also gave a short closing address.  The Kerygma Junior Choir joined with the senior choir for a number of items.  The soloists were Claire Warburton, Clover Watts and Hayley Howe (Violin).

Special guest was Lagan Valley MP Sir Jeffrey Donaldson.  After the closing hymn, Louise Colgan from Banbridge presented a bouquet of flowers to Mrs Palmer.

The Kerygma cross-community choir was formed in 2015 for the Diocese of Down and Dromore Year of Mission at the invitation of Bishop Harold Miller with the charge of proclaiming the gospel through a variety of musical styles and genres.  They performed for the first time in Down Cathedral on St Patrick’s Day 2015 where the Archbishop of Canterbury was the guest preacher.
