Publication of book by the Rev Dr Andrew Campbell

Monday July 7th 2025

A book by the Rev Dr Andrew Campbell, former rector of Skerry, Rathcavan and Newtowncrommelin, has just been published by Wipf and Stock.

Andrew’s book, volume four in the series, is entitled One for the Other: Engaging with Non-Violent Atonement Theology.

It employs an analytical method to identify the motivating factors within non-violent atonement theology. It then seeks a response with those factors in mind, drawing upon the thinking of Scottish theologian PT Forsyth.

The book is volume four in Analyzing Theology, a  series in Analytical and Systematic Theology from Wipf and Stock , a publisher based in Oregon, USA, specialising in works in theology, biblical studies, history and philosophy.

Analyzing Theology is a series of short (sub-70,000 word) entry-level monographs in Christian theology.

The Rev Dr Andrew Campbell.

As we reported at the time, Andrew signed this book deal in 2021. Contribution philosophers are Nicholas Wolterstorff (first volume), Eleonore Stump (second), and Jonathan Hill, (third volume).

Andrew is currently rector of St Swithin’s, Magherafelt.

He said: “The series is quite prestigious and includes some of the major voices in Analytical philosophers of Religion (Wolterstoff and Stump). However, I am the first theologian in the series and the first cleric.”
