Some of the faces and places making the news in the summer issue of our diocesan magazine ‘Connor Connections.’

The summer issue of our diocesan magazine Connor Connections will be available in churches across the diocese from this weekend.

The Rev Patrick Barton, rector of Ballintoy, Dunseverick with Rathlin, features on the cover with supporters who joined him for sections of his walk around all 70 townlands in the grouped parishes to raise funds for the Connor / SAMS Lent Project for North Argentina Diocese. Inside, you will find an update on the North Argentina project, the initiatives and people it is supporting, and learn how you can still be involved.

We hear about the launch of the new Gathered Centre in Coleraine, discover an initiative in Ahoghill and Portglenone which encourages men to walk and talk; and are introduced to Illumin8, an outreach project for young people with autism which has been running in Holy Trinity, Woodburn, for the past three years.

News items include a report on the ‘Called to Serve’ vocations retreat, parish weekends enjoyed by members of St Nicholas’ and All Saints’, Belfast and, separately, by the United Parish of Christ Church and St John.

There is the latest clergy news and a preview of the upcoming Anglican Consultative Council meeting in Belfast.

The folk in St Patrick’s, Ballymoney, invite you to take a prayer walk in their beautiful Quiet Garden, and we hear about plans for a visit to Uganda with Abaana Ministries by members of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Monkstown.

A look-back at the annual Connor Mothers’ Union Festival Service; news of what our young people have been up to; a tribute to the late Dean Houston McKelvey; items from parishes across the diocese and more in this latest issue.

Connor Connections is free to all parishioners. If anyone requires additional copies, please contact dco@connordiocese.org.
