Celebrating 185th anniversary of St Jude’s, Muckamore

St Jude’s Parish Church, Muckamore, is holding two special events to celebrate the 185^th anniversary of the church which was built in 1841.

On Saturday September 26, there will be a BIG Breakfast in St Jude’s Hall, bringing people together from the local community and raising funds.

Then on Sunday September 27, there will be a Celebration Service in the church, beginning at 3pm.

The rector, the Rev Derek Harrington, said: “Marking this anniversary provides a wonderful opportunity for us to give thanks to God for the life and witness of the church over the past 185 years and to celebrate the many generations of people who have worshipped and served here.”

On Saturday, cooked breakfasts will be served between 9am and 12pm at a cost of £10 per person, £5 for under 12s, and St Jude’s looks forward to welcoming all who are in the Antrim area to come along for a fry!

The next afternoon, the guest speaker for the Celebration Service will be the Rt Rev Darren McCartney, rector of St Paul’s Lisburn and a former parishioner of St Jude’s. The service will be followed by refreshments and fellowship.

Derek said: “It is my great pleasure to welcome you to this significant occasion in the life of our parish and wider community. We hope that you might be able to join us as we celebrate our heritage, give thanks for the present, and look forward with faith and hope to the future.”
