‘Connected’ exhibition of Wichí art from Northern Argentina

Friday October 9th 2026

An exhibition highlighting the historical connections between the Church of Ireland and Argentina and the ongoing links between Ireland and the Wichí of Misión Chaqueña is to open in Lisburn.

The ‘Connected’ exhibition is a celebration of the artistry of the Wichí and the connectedness to their environment, through textiles, woodwork and painting.

It will run in the  R-Space Gallery, Castle Street, Lisburn from October 31 (2-4pm) and Tuesday-Saturday (11am-5pm) thereafter until November 13.

The exhibition is being hosted by Queen’s University, SAMS (the South American Mission Society) and the Northern Argentina based SIWOK Foundation.

Connor Diocese is currently working with SAMS to support the Diocese of North Argentina. Launched as a Lent Project earlier this year, the project is continuing through the Harvest season and into Advent. Learn more HERE.

The ‘Connected’ exhibition is endorsed by Connor Council for Mission.
