Organ Scholars installed and recruitment of new voluntary choir at Belfast Cathedral
Belfast Cathedral’s new Organ Scholars.
Belfast Cathedral admitted five new scholars to its music foundation during the annual Service of Installation on the afternoon of Sunday October 11.
Eimear, Sorcha, Timothy, and Darragh were welcomed as Choral Scholars for the coming academic year 2026-27, and Finn Sloan was installed as the Billy Adair Memorial Organ Scholar.
Choir of Belfast Cathedral.
The Cathedral is also recruiting for a new occasional voluntary choir which would sing a number of services in St Anne’s as well as a couple of concerts throughout the year.
Anyone interested is welcome to come along a ‘Come & Sing Evensong’ on Saturday October 24 from 1-2.30pm. Choral favourites from Wesley to Rutter will be included as well as a couple rousing hymns!
The Cathedral said it doesn’t matter what level of musical literacy you have – a passion for singing is what counts! If you have any questions, please contact Assistant Master of Music, Jack McCabe at jmccabe@belfastcathedral.org.
