Congratulations to the Rev Canon Nigel Baylor on his retirement after 23 years as rector of St Patrick’s, Jordanstown.

The church community gathered on Sunday October 25 to give thanks to God for the ministry of Canon Baylor who has served in ordained ministry for 42 years.

The parish also expressed its gratitude to Nigel’s wife Janet for her steadfast support, encouragement and devotion throughout Nigel’s ministry.

“Together they have touched countless lives and leave behind a remarkable legacy of faith, service and commitment to God’s Church,” a post on the parish Facebook page states.

Canon Nigel Baylor and his wife Janet cut the retirement cake.

St Patrick’s was filled with parishioners, friends, former parishioners and members of the wider community, and afterwards many gathered for a special retirement lunch where fellowship, gratitude and fond memories were shared.

A musical recital featuring the Choristers of St Patrick’s, Jordanstown, Grace Kelly, Abby Hasson, Matthew Kelly and Fiona Norris added a special touch to the occasion.

The day also featured items from the Space Band, organist and praise leader.
