At the age of just 29, Simon Neill, Director of Music at St Polycarp’s, Finaghy, Diocese of Connor, has been awarded a British Empire Medal (BEM) in Her Majesty the Queen’s New Year’s Honour’s list.

The Archbishop of Armagh, the Most Rev Dr Richard Clarke, has appointed the Ven George Davison, Archdeacon of Belfast and rector of St Nicholas’, Carrickfergus, as Archbishop’s Commissary for the Diocese of Connor.
The Rt Rev Alan Abernethy retires on December 31 after 12 and a half years as Bishop of Connor. As we mark the occasion, we wish Bishop Alan and his wife Liz, every blessing for a happy and healthy retirement, and we thank him for all his has been to, and done for, this diocese over the years.
IMPACT, Church Mission Society Ireland (CMSI’s) annual series of roadshow events, which takes place across Ireland as the start of every year, will be at two venues in Connor Diocese in January.
A course entitled ‘An Introduction to Healthcare Pastoral Visitation’ will run from January 23 until March 19 at Edgehill House 9 Lennoxvale, Belfast, BT9 5BY.
The Diocese of Connor said thank you to its much-loved bishop, the Rt Rev Alan Abernethy, at a special Service of Thanksgiving to mark his retirement.
